Open House with Adrien Segal

he Pony Farm Residency Project is thrilled to announce that Adrien Segal has been awarded our June 2023 artist residency and will stay in Pioneer June 11-17th. Oakland-based artist and writer Segal has been making waves in the international art scene since 2007 with their stunning and data-inspired work. Their pieces can be found in permanent collections like the National Academy of Science in Washington D.C., the Museum of Art in Wood in Philadelphia, and even the City of Homer in Alaska.
Adrien has been awarded several Artist Residencies across the US, Canada, and Europe and was honored as the US-UK Fulbright Scholar at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design at the University of Dundee in Scotland in 2022. They have also served as the Latham Fellow at IIT Institute of Design in Chicago and as a Visiting Artist at San Diego State University, Benchspace Cork in Ireland, and the University of Lethbridge in Canada.
Adrien is currently a professor of Art and Design at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, where they earned their BFA in 2007. They continue to create unique sculptures out of their studio on the former Naval Base in Alameda, California.
Their work explores the intersection between science and emotion, questioning the traditional scientific methods of studying natural systems. They draw inspiration from landscape, science, history, emotion, and perception to create a sensory experience that is accessible and intuitive. The Pony Farm will be hosting an artist open house on June 16th, where the public can come and see
